Find the right Drive-Alert Vehicle Detection System for your needs.

Trust in the most reliable systems on the market!

Drive-Alerts have been the security industry's most popular vehicle detection systems for over 30 years, and they are manufactured by the pioneer in vehicle detection technology...Mier Products, Inc.

Mier Product's Drive-Alert Vehicle Detection Systems detect vehicle movement in driveways, farm lanes, near workshops or equipment, at remote locations, and at drive-up windows. These driveway alarm systems are also excellent for stationary asset protection. Use it anywhere knowledge of vehicle movement, or tampering with equipment, is desired.

All Drive-Alert driveway alarm system models sense disturbances in the magnetic field around them, such as moving vehicles or the movement of metal objects near a sensor. A signal is transmitted from the sensor(s) to the control panel to trigger an alert whenever a car, truck, or other metal object moves within twelve feet of the sensor(s). Multiple sensors may be used. The type of alert varies by the model you choose, and by the accessories you add to it.

Answer these 4 easy questions to choose the
Drive-Alert that best fits your application!

Question 1: Do you want a buried-sensor system or a wireless system? The DA-500 is our original "Buried Sensor" system. The DA-600 and DA-605P are our "Wireless" systems. NOTE: for drive-up window applications Mier recommends a DA-500 with a DA-655 accessory.

Question 2: Do you need a long range system? The DA-500 comes with 100' of buried cable, but if you need more, order a DA-500CP control panel with a DA-051-???, where you fill in the amount of cable needed up to 2500' (example: DA-500CP + DA-051-300). The DA-600 & DA605P have a standard range of 500' if the sensor is on the ground, and up to 1000' if on a post. If you need more, order a DA-600LR or DA-605LR which will include a DA-660 Booster-Antenna to extend your range up to 1/2 mile (see options).

Question 3: Do you want to add accessories? Such as: hard-wired chimes (DA-655 or DA-052V), wireless chimes (DA-066 Transmitter, plus DA-068 Plug-in Chimes and/or DA-070 Portable Chimes), hard-wired lights (DA-505), or wireless lights (DA-606LK) - (see accessories).

Question 4: If you choose a wireless DA-600 or DA-605: Are you able to put the standard wireless DA-610TO Sensor/Xmitter, ABOVE ground and RIGHT NEXT to the drive? If you can, then simply order the standard DA-600 or DA-605P. If you cannot, then you need a DA-611TO Sensor/Xmitter. In this case you should order a DA-600CP (control panel only) or a DA-605CP (control panel only) PLUS the DA-611TO (see options).

The Original Drive-Alert

The DA-500 Drive-Alert Vehicle Detection System includes a control panel with an internal alert whistle, a sensor, and 100 feet of cable.

See our "Options and Accessories" below for longer lengths of cable and other features which can easily be added. Popular accessories include chimes and lights.

See the "Wireless Systems" directly below if you are interested in wireless vehicle detection systems.

The DA-500 has a sensor which monitors a 10 foot radius (20' diameter) to detect disturbances in the magnetic field caused by vehicle traffic in driveways, farm lanes, intersections and any areas where knowledge of vehicle movement is desired. Up to three additional sensors may be added to a DA-500. The DA-500 sensor is not a PIR or "beam" sensor. Thus, the DA-500 does not have the false alarms common to that type of sensor; such as being triggered by animals, fog, weather, etc...

Homes

A residential installation allows the homeowner to know when someone enters the driveway. This is accomplished by a buried sensor which detects moving metal objects such as cars, trucks, motorcycles or bikes. Then the sensor sends a signal to the control panel which sounds an electronic whistle alert.

Options and Sensors

DA-051 sensor with cable length of your choice:

If you intend on ordering a DA-500, but need more than the standard 100' of direct-burial cable, then order a DA-500CP which is the DA-500 control-panel, AND ALSO order the DA-051-_ _ _.

The DA-051 is the sensor, and then you fill in the spaces with the length of cable you will need (in feet) from 10' up to a maximum of 2500'. An example would be a DA-051-200 would be a sensor with a 200 feet of cable.

Wireless DA-610TO Transmitter with Internal Sensor: for use with models DA-600 and DA-605

Unlimited sensors may be used with the new wireless series of Drive-Alerts to monitor several areas. The sensor is encased in a durable outdoor metal enclosure. They monitor a 14-foot radius (28' diameter). These sensors require two standard AA batteries which will last more than a year under normal usage. These sensors may be placed up to 1000 feet from the Control Panel, and up to 2500 feet when used with a Long Range "LR" system which includes the DA-660 booster antenna. The sensors are tamper resistant due to the fact that if anyone touches or moves one, the alert will be triggered.

NOTE: the new wireless systems can be completely battery operated allowing them to be entirely mobile.

Wireless DA-611TO Transmitter with External Sensor and 50 feet of cable:
for use with models DA-600 and DA-605

This option is used when you cannot place the standard DA-610TO sensor/xmitter (which comes with the DA-600 and DA-605) right next to the driveway. The DA-611TO allows you to bury the sensor right next to, or under, the drive and then place the transmitter up to 50' away under some landscaping or up a tree or pole (this also helps increase transmission reception). If you want this option, order a DA-600CP or DA-605CP which are the control panels for these systems, AND ALSO the DA-611TO.

Note: If you order the DA-605CP and DA-611TO, don't forget to order DA-068 and/or DA-070 chimes too.

Accessories - Chimes

DA-655 Hard-Wired Chime with Volume Control: for use with models DA-500 and DA-600
Recommended for ALL DRIVE-UP WINDOW APPLICATIONS

The DA-655 is ideal when a more pleasant tone is desired, instead of the whistle within the control panel of the DA-500 or DA-600. The DA-655 will be hardwired to the control panel of the DA-500 or DA-600, and emits a pleasant chime when a vehicle is detected. There is also a volume control, and this unit can be turned up to a high level.

The DA-655 works in a 9VDC to 30VDC range.

NOTE: We recommend the DA-605 systems for residential applications where a pleasant chime and/or remote chimes are desired.

DA-066 Remote Chime Transmitter:
standard on model DA-605, can be adapted to DA-500 or DA-600

When attached to a control panel, and a vehicle is detected by the Drive-Alert model you are using, the DA-066 sends a signal to activate DA-068 Plug-in Chimes and/or DA-070 Battery-powered Portable Chimes. The DA-066 can also be used as a "test" or "call" button to manually trigger these chimes.

NOTE: The DA-066 can be used as an add-on to the DA-500 or DA-600 Drive-Alerts. Often a customer who has one of these systems later decides he/she would rather have remote plug-in and/or battery-powered chimes as alerts instead of the piezo whistle that comes standard in the DA-500 and DA-600. This is an easily-installed and reliable answer!

These chimes have volume control and a choice of three different tones. Any number and combination of these chimes can be used with a Drive-Alert.

These chimes can be located up to 100' away from the control panel!

Note: A DA-066 must also be attached in order for this chime to work.

Accessories - Lights

DA-505 and DA-505W Hard-Wired Light Timer Control: for use with all models

When used in conjunction with the Drive-Alert, it will turn on 10 amps of lights, sirens or bells. The DA-505 unit simply plugs into a 120 VAC outlet and contains its own receptacle to provide power to lights or alarms. The DA-505W is a "stand alone" unit that gets its power from the Drive-Alert, and provides a N.O., timed, dry contact to switch a load (lights, contactors, bells, etc) rated at 10 amps, 120 volts AC.  The DA-505W is a terrific intermediate interface with a "healthy" large relay within, that may be used to control other functions such as triggering a large commercial lighting contactor, billboards, holiday lights, etc. The alarm or lights triggered by either of these units can be adjusted to operate from 1 to 45 minutes. Both may be used with all models. Please call our technical support team for information.
